Surreal Still Life Drawing Class (Hobart)

Come join us for a magical evening of candlelit drawing around the table in this beautiful Hobart studio space ‘Earthside Exchange’.

In this workshop artist Hilary Green will guide you through drawing warm ups and techniques to expand your style, relax and unwind. Hilary will share her love of surrealism and demonstrate ways to warp and distort the still life. We will have a sweet, surreal still life table setting featuring candelabras and vessel sculptures encased in flower arrangements by local floral artist Eliza Rogers. You will have the opportunity to apply your learnt techniques in a final longer drawing where we can relax into the flow of chatting and creating around the table together.

Drinks on arrival at 5pm and drawing starting at 6pm - 7:30pm

Hilary is passionate about sharing her practice, discussing artistic process and putting love into these events to make you feel safe to create and be yourself. She is always open to questions and will demonstrate many of her own tips and tricks throughout the evening.

A perfect workshop if you want to begin drawing or you would like to grow your style with the help of a fellow artist. It can be intimidating drawing amongst others but you will not be asked to show your work if you are not comfortable and Hilary will always keep in mind respecting your art first.

Materials will be provided and wine available on arrival. BYO water bottle and any drawing supplies you prefer.
