Ceramics

My hand made stoneware ceramics are now available in my shop and are each wheel thrown with hand carved illustrations. My inspiration wells up from my childhood. Stories I connect with have characters that are troubled or in a dream world of their own. My memories of childhood are expressed in many ways and I am always torn between the child I am in my heart and the woman I have grown into. The organic forms that I create have an interactive quality and I find endless inspiration from Japanese wood block prints and Ukiyo E art.

Ceramics has an ancient link with storytelling and I appreciate that in the busy lives we lead, that there may be moments of contemplation when we can hold illustrated pieces in our hand and play with stories in our minds.
